This summer we took a trip to the Oregon coast and had SO MUCH FUN! First stop was Cannon Beach, and that town is ADORABLE! I would love to go back every year! I also had a nice freak out because Goonies was filmed there and totally geeked out every time there was something "goonie-ish" around. Dakota spent all day walking on the beach and exploring.

After a couple days Cannon Beach we went to Newport (passing the TALLAMOOK cheese factory on the way ) and went to the Aquarium there and ate yummy ice cream and shopped along the way.

Time to update the blog! I am in a great mood as today is the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!

We are so excited for the warm weather! Our summer is filling up with some great family reunions and some exciting camping trips!

Hyrum is staying busy with work. He is fighting fires and saving lives while being stationed at the Boise airport. He loves his job! He stays busy playing with Dakota on his days off so I can work while he is home. He is also busy getting the trailer ready for our summer o' fun. Hunting season is at a stand still until the turkey come out to play this spring. He got a new calling in primary teaching the 8&9 year olds. It sounds like its a lot of fun!

Dakota is such a sweet little lady. Hyrum took control of the sleep training around 9 months because I couldn't take getting up 3-7 times a night. He did a great job with the training and she now sleeps through the night. She has her two bottom teeth and her top teeth are about to make their debut. She finally crawls and is pulling herself up. I'm in no hurry for her to start walking. She is one chill baby now-a-days. I love it! She is getting a hang of the fake cry, but I can see right through her pouty lips.

I have been doing a lot of hair, and luckily Hyrums schedule allows me to work while he stays home with Dakota. Monday-Thursday I go to Zumba with some girlfriends and its a blast! It just a dance party 4 days a week for an hour. I was released from being ward choir director and with that release came much relief. I learned a lot, but I had no clue what I was doing. I am now working with the girls in primary doing activity days. I'm excited about this calling!

We will try to do better with our blog. Now that winter is coming to an end we will have more to post!

We recently inherited the Wilson family tent trailer so we took it up to Ponderosa (near McCall,ID) and took it for a test run. I had never camped in a trailer of any kind before and I loved it! Especially with Dakota, she was nice and warm all night because we had a space heater plugged in and didn't even have to use the actual heater in the trailer.

Then we took the dogs out to Payette lake and threw duck decoys in the water and had gunner fetch the little duck. Hyrum took Gunner out to the dock and gunner got curious about the water and took an accidental nose dive off the edge and just kept swimming out to the middle of the lake, we were afraid we would have had to jump in after him. SO FUNNY!

We were sad that we waited until the end of the camping season to head out, but we are ready for next year!

Hyrum, Dakota and I have been having a blast this summer! We are slowly figuring out how this parenting business works, but so far we love it! We love watching Dakota learn. She loves her feet and talks talks talks. I cant wait for her to say her first word ( probably gonna be "momma" because I'm drilling it into mind by walking around saying "momma momma momma").

We just finished our month long vacation starting out with Kota and I flying to Utah for Mr Bowen Pathe Jordans blessing. I love baby blessings, they always make me a little weepy. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Wilsons for a Wilson family reunion. WE HAD A BLAST! But, I cant prove it with pictures because I couldn't find my camera the whole time, so sad! We played minute to win it, went to the SLC temple so Ashley could prepare for her mission to Bolivia, went swimming and had some yummy campfire dinners.

After that we jumped in the car and drove to California. Dakota did great! She snoozed about 85% of the drive. We met up with the Jordan clan and hit the beach! Plenty of tans and games!

We are already looking forward to the next time we get to see our families but things are already getting busy for the next long while who knows when that will be!

I will try to update our blog more often so you wont have to catch up three months at a time!

We had a baby!!

April 13th Hyrum and I went in for our weekly baby appt and the nurse took my blood pressure and it was about 140/100. Or maybe it was 170/100....who knows, its kinda a blur:) The Dr came in and took my blood pressure again and said she was worried that it was a little high, and that she would induce me that day. She said it like our whole lives weren't about to change drastically. I always pictured balloons and streamers to fall when she announced we would be having the baby. Ok, not really, but it would have made things a little less scary.

Hyrum and headed over to the hospital and they hooked me up to an IV, which is totally yucky feeling. I'm not a fan of needles AT ALL, and to have one stuck in your hand for 2 days is no bueno. But they kept me happy by keeping the grape juice and ice coming. They later wheeled me to the labor and delivery room where they hooked me up to some pitosin ( If that's how its spelled) and the contractions started kicking in. Remember that Im terrified of needles so I tried to let the contractions go as long as I could, but then the time came where it was to much and they called the big bad needle guy in. I didn't look at him once. I was afraid I would catch sight of that scary needle everyone told me about, and to be honest, the needle was the least painful. Its the part where he shoves golf balls into your back, or at least that's what it felt like. The epidural kicked in...bliss. BLAH BLAH BLAH yadda yadda yadda, here comes baby, push, push, push...57 min later baby Dakota popped out with all five fingers and toes. Not to mention the hairball on top of her head ( that explains all the heartburn). She broke the scale at 8lbs 9.4oz and was 20 inches long.

So far she is doing great. Shes dropped a few lbs because nursing is killing me, and she doesn't want to have much to do with it. But, shes still gonna make it. She does what most of us dream of doing, eat,sleep and cries when she wants to. But sleeping is her favorite, we even have to wake her up at night to feed her every 3-4 hours.

Mom just left this morning, so lets see if we can still function without her. We LOVED having her!!!

So this is pregnant Margaret at 33 weeks. Ohh boy, I'm ready to have a baby! BUT, Hyrum says I cant have her until my due date...darn. Everything is going great with the pregnancy. I don't think I ask all the right questions when I go to the doctor so I don't have all the tid bits of info that people would like. But, I know I am measuring right where I need to be. My feet and ankles think its cool to swell up into sausage toes and cankle nation and I see spots every now and then, we thought it was signs of preeclampsia, but my blood pressure is perfect, so I'm just starting to think its part of being pregnant. Hyrum has been so sweet with helping me do a lot of things. He puts my shoes on, cooks dinner, cleans and helps me get up and down all the time. What a sweety!

We are so excited to do family vacations this summer that we have to keep reminding ourselves that we have to have a baby first:) Annnd there is still lots to do to get ready for baby, like clean the carpets, so I better get crackin on that!

McCall, ID is about 1.5 hours away and is beautiful! We drove up there this last weekend to go to the Winter Festival where they do what some people call ice sculpting, but I call is snow sculptures. Still, amazing. We had fun watching the parade and eating some yummy Mexican food. It was nice to get out and see a little more of Idaho. Although we have been to McCall a few times before, never in the winter. There is a huge lake up there and it was amazing to see it frozen over, people were out walking on it, something I've never seen before. Anyways, it was lots of fun!

Much to my dismay I thought it would be time to share with the world what a pregnant Margaret looks like. So here is belly framing picture:) Big cheeks and all.

Explanation for how huge my tummy is-I have ZERO torso room for baby to grow so she just pushes her cute little way out towards walls. The other day I was at Hobby lobby (I could do a whole blog on HL, but that would just be ridiculous....right?) and I ran right into the cart with the big 'ol belly. I also just about shut the truck door on it too. The tummy gets in the way all the time! I see all my cute pregnant girlfriends and family members and I covet their loooong torsos that carry babies so beautifully. Even the ones that have carried twins (that's right Marin, Im talking about you) seem to have been smaller than me.

Baby is healthy! 10 more weeks! As my mom always says "onward and upward!"

That's got to be the quote of my life. When I first got pregnant Laura was living with us, and it was embarrassing to have her come home and see me laying on the couch with dishes in the sink and clothes everywhere. I was being lazy, or otherwise, pregnant.
The second trimester was GREAT! I had energy, I could go for long walks, and the house was ALMOST always clean (minus my bedroom, I have a problem with keeping my room clean, Hyrum loves it...alright, he doesn't). It was as if I weren't pregnant.
As of about right after Christmas I decided that work was going to have to come to a brief halt as of Feb. 6th. Swollen feet, sore tendons,standing for 1-3 hours per client, and a hand full of clients letting me know my tummy is awkwardly rubbing against them during their haircut has made me decide that some time off would be nice. I'm not being lazy, I promise, just being pregnant.

As for Hyrum, he's had some big changes at work! He no longer works for North Ada County Fire and Rescue, he now works for the largest fire district (is it district? I should know this) in all of Idaho. He works for BOISE FIRE! We are so excited! So far he's only worked 2 shifts with them, but he LOVES it! He gets to meet a lot of new people, and turns out there is a guys in our ward who works for Boise, and his wife and I have become RS buddies. His schedule is super amazing, he works 2 days on and 4 days off. That's right folks, that's 4 days OFF! Its nice to have him home. Some days he gets to act pregnant, but others hes cleaning out the garage or pulling boxes from here or there. But, what he wants to do every day is take Gunner out hunting by the river. This week is the last week for duck season, so I'm sure Hyrum will have some early morning hunts and long afternoon naps.
Also, Hyrum and I (MAYBE myself ) have decided that we will both go to real estate school in the next couple of months. It will give Hyrum something to do on his days off, and it will allow me to help bring in some extra dough while still doing hair. We'll see how that goes. Anyways, there is the update on our lives.
As for people who have requested belly pics, I really hate taking the "frame the belly" pictures, but Ill see what I can do:)

Christmas and a Mystery

Christmas was in California this year and it was SOOOO fun!!! We started the week off with a photo shoot at In n Out, no joke, we all were matchy matchy and cute together. We finished the shoot off with some tasty burgers. Christmas eve we started the day off with a Tri and my sweet man got 2nd place, he's so fast:) We had a beautiful Christmas eve dinner of ham and beef and everything yummy. Read The Story from Luke. Then Kerchief (Mom) and Cap (Dad) read The Night Before Christmas to everyone and we heard Santa's sleigh bells in the backyard and the kiddos darted off to bed.

Christmas morning we woke up when Grandma Pathe and Uncle David arrived and went to town on our Christmas morning cereal (Jordan fam tradition) and presents.

THEN, we had a murder in the house. Louise put together a 1920's murder mystery dinner. It was so fun to dress up and play the part.

We had so much fun and I can't wait to see family again in July! Maybe earlier!

We are so excited!!! Everyone has asked how Hyrum is taking the news, and he is doing GREAT! Although most men want boys, Hyrum is so happy that we are having a healthy baby GIRL! I am just as excited! I couldn't stop smiling all day. After Hyrum and I celebrated with pizza and salad Hyrum said we had to go get dog food. We drove right past petsmart onto Babies R Us and parked in the expectant mother parking (which I LOVE!!) and he took me inside and told me to pick out any little lady outfit:) I chose the floral onesies, and that's just the beginning of floral wonderful for our little lady! We're so excited!

This year was a great Thanksgiving as were the years past. We enjoyed the company of the Wilson family, the Agnew family the Thomsons and the Noto families. Everyone brought a little something to fill the food table with yumminess. We ate SOOOO much food! Then we moved onto pies, and ohhh boy, they were amazing! Now we all have to go exercise for 6 days strait. I didn't take pictures when everyone got there, but I sure wish I did because I was so excited to host this Thanksgiving and would love to do it again and again in the years to come.
Next is Hyrums birthday on Dec 5th! I'm excited for him to finally reach the ripe age of 25 with me! Then CHRISTMAS! I have been looking EVERYWHERE in our house for our decorations but could not find them. I think Hyrum was afraid I would jump the Christmas decoration gun and decorate a month in advance and skip over the T day decorations. But out of the blue, there was my bag of Christmas decor sitting at the top of the stairs this morning!! HURRAY! Hyrum "found" them. I think he just pulled them out of his hiding spot. For his punishment Im going to leave him on the roof with a handful of Christmas lights:) We're gonna geek out on Christmas this year!

Sorry there hasn't been much of an update, I'm finally to the point where I don't feel like laying down and sleeping my life away when I get home from work. The baby is letting me have energy once again so I'm hoping to establish a life again.
Hyrum had to work on Halloween so we partied it up the night before with some pumpkin seeds, pumpkin carving and jack-o-lantern pizza. I decided to stay in on Halloween night and pass out candy for the first time. Growing up we never had trick-or-treaters so I was sooo excited when the doorbell rang, Laura was there, she'll tell you how happy I was to pass out candy. Besides I had also been up since early that morning to go wait in line for the H1N1 shot, that would make a total of 6.5 hours in line, and I finally got it!
A couple weeks later we ventured to Utah where we threw rocks in the lake with our nephews and helped put stuff together for Hyrums sisters wedding. It was fun to see everyone, we hadn't been to Utah since we moved to Idaho over a year ago.
Now we move on to Thanksgiving. This year Hyrum and I will be hosting and I'm soooo excited to get everything together and entertain our 17 guest. I think being around a lot of people at the holidays remindes me of growing up with lots of family and friends. Now all we need is a trampoline and hayrides with the tractor!

Veterans day

Happy Veterans day to Hyrum and all the other men and women who have served our country.
Hyrum served in the 173rd Airborne unit with some of his closest friends. He jumped out of airplanes made sure his "buddies" were safe and looked super handsome and tough while doing it. I'm so proud of him and how well he has done! He has shared so many fun army stories, they are my favorite to hear! He's not showered for months and has eaten some questionable goats while in Afghanistan.
He has seen so many amazing places while serving. He traveled from Georgia to Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Kuwait, Ireland, Turkey, Kirghistan (IF that's how you spell it ) you name it, he's been there!
Hyrum has been able to use the skills he learned through the military to teach me some handy things.
After he got out of the army he joined the Army national guard in Utah. Although the guard wasn't nearly as exciting as the army he still put in his time and service.
I love my husband and I'm grateful for all the hard work he has put towards protecting me, our country and others. I am so proud of him, and I'm grateful for our veterans.

PUMPKINS!

Hyrum and I took a trip with the other Wilson (including Eva these days) clan along with the Agnew and Thomson posse to Linder Farm. We took a hay ride that reminded me of the days when dad would fill the trailer with straw and pull all the kids around the neighborhood visiting the cows and emu, I LOVED it! We stopped at our patch of choice and searched near and far for the perfect pumpkin. After we completed the search and found our perfect match we headed over to the petting zoo and watched as Dylan bottle feed a baby camel. It was so much fun! I took my film camera to try to take some good pictures and didn't pull out the digital one, but once I get the film on CD I will post more. Hyrum and I loved the night out and cant wait for the carving contest.

In regards to the new article in the Ensign,I will do my best to avoid complaining and posting embarrassing baby pictures of our child. But...
Why doesn't my baby like root beer or candy??? Does this mean I have to eat healthy?? My poor mother and my poor sister Chris have already received phone calls with me asking them what my diet should be. Can I eat farm eggs?? Can I drink hot hot drinks (herbal tea, which I'm drinking right now, and its so blah, I'll have to put a gallon of honey in to make it yummy) and my mom over heard me asking for fries with my happy meal instead of apple wedges. SHAME ON ME. But, I'm way to embarrassed to call up my nurse and ask her these things cause she will just call me an uneducated fool:)
I've been so lucky to not be sick (throwing up) but when my body wants to feel sick I feel like life is over. Mad props to my husband who keeps me kickin, otherwise I would just spend my days in bed sleeping and wishing pregnancy was just a cute belly with no weight gain or headaches. Not to mention to the nightly trips to the bathroom and the 14 year old break outs that happen.
Its all part of being a mom, and if this is all I have to do to receive the blessing of children then bring it on!
I think I'll give it another month then I will start shopping for baby's room. We're lucky to have some pretty Fancy used baby stores around here, so we are going to hit those up. If you have any ideas for some baby room ideas let us know! We don't know the baby's sex, but when we do, its go time with the pinks or the blues!

Its baby nation in our neck of the woods! We're having a little baby April 21st!! Things have been going well with the pregnancy. Haven't been sick, just always feeling like I'm about to be sick, and suuuuuper sleepy. Had the first ultrasound and the Dr said everything looks amazing, and said the baby was showing off while we were looking at it:) So far no cravings until someone says something about a happy meal, jamba juice or pickles. I've been doing my best with ignoring those cravings and sticking to eating at home, but I've given in a few times...OK a lot of times:) I've been walking almost daily minus the days when Im to sleepy to move. In the mean time Hyrum and I are trying to get ready for this business both mentally and spiritually. Any advice, we'll take it!

As of yesterday Hyrum and I have been married for 2 years! Hurray for us! Hyrum let me sleep in and took me to go see UP (such a cute movie, cried at a cartoon). Afterwards we went outside and sat on the porch in our rocking chairs, those chairs are my most favorite place in the whole wide world:) While sitting there Hyrum and I went over our timeline of our 2 years of marriage. Here are a few things we covered within 2 years-
-Got married in the temple
-honeymooned and had the time of our lives!
-Moved into a basement apt that had a yard!
-Hyrum went to UVU
-I did hair while Hyrum worked at a western apparel store
-Took a break from hair and worked for Dish Net
-Hyrum changed his major twice
-I cooked some nasty experimental cassarols
-Family vacations
-Hyrum traveled the greater area looking for a firefighting job (at times we never thought it would happen)
-We do a triathalon sprint together (and with the Jordan family)
-Hyrum becomes an EMT
-YAY!!!! Hyrum got a job with North Ada County Fire and rescue!
-Move to Boise,ID
-Watched seasons of 24 throughout the winter
-Bought a house!
-Got another dog
-Plenty more where that came from!
May not seem like a lot to some people but its been a great journy and we have had so much fun while figuring everything out! After we went over our 2 years Hyrum took me out to Tempenyaki (maybe thats how you spell it) and had some very yummy food. I love those places, they are soooo fun!
I love being married to Hyrum he always makes me smile!

We got a new dog! Ozzie has a big yard to play in, and nobody to share it with so the time has come for a new puppers.
Gunner is the cutey-pa-tooties name and he is a Chesapeake bay retriever. He will be Hyrums perfect little hunting companion. He is a dog with webbed paws which means it will be so fun to take him to the lake. He's a big dog which will provide security (I know your thinking, " you folks live in Idaho why would you need security??" well, we could be the one in a million:))for me while Hyrum is working. Hyrum works so hard so he just deserves a new dog:) Its only day 2 that we have had him and he's already done a few puppy things. The first night we made an attempt to have him sleep in his kennel cause we WILL NOT let the dogs sleep in bed with us and Gunner wouldn't have any of the kennel business so Hyrum fell asleep on the floor with him. Then Gunner would whine and Hyrum would take him out in the middle of the night. He was a good dog and didnt go potty on the carpet at night (just on the linoleum) in the bathroom). He has spent most of his day outside, but comes in when it's to hot for anyone or anything to be outside. He LOVES sleeping in the cool house. He will be going to obedience school at the end of Aug and I am looking forward to that! Ozzie is already annoyed with the puppy business but he'll walk that off and love Gunner. I wont have a house that smells like dog so we are working hard at keeping everything looking pet free. We'll keep you updated and post better pictures soon!

Family vacation is the best thing for the sunshine soul, I'll tell you what! Yesterday Hyrum and I came home from our week long Jordan family vacation to Bear Lake, UT. The lake was blue the cabin was beautiful and the clouds hung heavily over us. The clouds didn't get in our way of having a good time. There was 14 of us up there so that always calls for a good time. We played nertz and held babies and had a blast!!! We caught up with each other and cooked for one another, rode bikes together, went through boot camp and got sunburn together.
We visited a HUGE cave where Kermit the frog and the 7 dwarfs lived. Not to mention the devil had an office there too. It was amazing. Then we went for a hike to a glacier lake, but never made it cause the clouds came in again. The drive up was worth it though, BEAUTIFUL scenery! The lake was fun and cold. The kids loved jumping off rocks and swimming in the cold blue lake. We rented jet skis and Hyrum experienced them for the first time, and let me tell you, my husband is fearless. I threw him off on his first ride (ON ACCIDENT, I PROMISE!) and he lost his sunglasses. All he did was laugh the whole time he was flying off the machine:) Then he got out on his own and tore up the lake!
We loved being with family for a week, and wish we could all be together all the time. I would post pictures to prove that this blissful happiness really did occur, but, I lost my camera. So, we will update after we can find it:)
As for the new home that I have neglected to post about...WE LOVE IT!!! It has been so fun to learn new things together as home owners. The house is perfect and has everything we could ever ask for. I'm still working on decorating but it will be done sooner or later:)

One week from today we will be moving into our new home!!!! Hyrum has been so sweet and has done about 90% of the packing, bless his heart. I cant wait! I hope our new neighbors bring us cookies and brownies and buckets of red vines. If they don't I think I will. Minus one house down the street cause the renters at the house have trashed the yard, so I'm mad at them and I will just key their cars...jk...kinda:) I'm excited to move the furniture and paint and vacuum stairs!! As for the outdoors, we are gonna do as much as we can (or shall I say as much as we can afford) and that means I can be outside doing yard work and get a tan!!! (You hear that Laura? You help me with the yard you will get tan...TAN! That word is music to your ears)
So everyone get your BBQing flip flop summah groove on and COME OVER!

For those of you who know me, and you don't have to know me very well to know this, but I have a problem. I LOVE CANDY, I LOVE SUGAR. I've always known that I could eat more candy, fruit roll-ups, fruit snack etc then anyone in the whole wide world. So, the time has come for me to cut back. Hence that I didn't say I'm going to STOP, but yes, I will cut back. Today I wanted candy so I went to the gym instead. After the gym, I ate dinner. But whats dinner without dessert? Usually there is just no such thing in my world, but today there was. I was so proud of myself...no sugar candy today! I am going to limit myself from now on. So here's to new years resolutions 4 almost 5 months late!

We put an offer on this house and it was excepted, HURRAY!!! We know its not ours yet. But, we hope that after inspection and the this and that's are done then we can move in on our closing date of June 5Th! The yard needs some fixing up, but that can be fixed with h20 and TLC. I would like to thank Mr. Herst for making beautiful pools of gold, I would looove to swim in that pool. But in the mean time I drive by our apt pool and I drool. I would give a million dollars for the sun to come out and stay out so I can jump into the water and LOVE it! Bless Boise, cause the sun isn't staying out long enough to warm the pool water so I've decided to take matters into my own hands. Im going to join the Masters at the Y and swim with them. It sounds like a really cool program, they have coaches to work on your strokes with you and they give you hour long workouts to run while others are perfecting their strokes. They don't swim competitively, but if it has to do with water that is shark free and if its a group of people I can wear goggles with and a swim cap with, not to mention being in my swimsuit around (blah!), well then Im all for it! Now that you all know about it, I HAVE to do it! So, here's to the Village People, ITS ALWAYS FUN TO HANG AND THE YMCA!

HE DID IT! It's official, Hyrum had his graduation ceremony and it was amazing!! They Firefighters marched in to drums and bagpipes and it was awesome! Hyrum looked sharp, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Weekend for Mary

Last week my family got together in Bakersfield, CA to remember my Aunt Mary, my dads sister, who had passed away the week before. Mary had a huge impact on my life. Although I didn't talk to her or visit her as much as I could have, she has a way to leave a mark on peoples lives and it's hard to forget those moments she shares with you. I can't wait to get to know her even more when we all see her again:)
The funeral was amazing. It's comforting to know that our families are sealed together so this is not the end. My dad and his siblings shared memories with all of us that were so fun to hear. I love that about my dad and his siblings, when things could be hard and blue they give us a little humor and happiness to make things seem so much better. Louise, Laura, Anna, Jeff and I sang a song my dad chose called What Is This Thing Men Call Death written by Pres. Hinkley and was also sung at his funeral by the MOTAB. Its an amazing song, promise me you'll google it and take a gander at the lyrics...amazing!
Afterwards the family got together for some lunch and picture taking. IT WAS SO FUN! Now-a-days its not very often when I get to see cousins, aunts and uncles. Ihave such a FUN family! Not to mention the after party posse that journeyed to Dewars to get a little Chocolate Soda Ice milk crazy:)
Anywho, the point of this blog is to express my gratitude for Mary and her great example, for the knowledge we have about eternal happiness (and what is happiness if your not with your awesome family FOREVER), and last but not least...my gratitude for 2 trips to Dewars in my 2 day visit:)

Happy Valentines Day yesterday! This year Hyrum kept telling me that we really should just save our money and just treat V-day just like another day. I agreed, but he knew I really wished we would celebrate. I went to work and when I came home there were hearts all over our front door. I thought Hyrum wasn't going to do ANYTHING so I quickly assumed it was Laura. Turns out my main squeez decorated the front door with hearts. I came in and gave him a hug and said thank you so much thinking that was his present. Then I saw a cute wrapped present on above the fireplace (sitting right next to his tiny box of chocolate I got him from wal-mart) and I got so excited that I got a present. Before I opened the present Hyrum said we need to go get his dry cleaning and get chicken from costco so I agreed to go. We went to Costco and Hy said he acually already got the chicken, and we were at Costco to get my 42 inch present:) He bought a flat screen. I've wanted to get one forever because our old TV isn't HD and we don't see the whole picture. I WAS SOOO EXCITED! What was in the gift bag over the fireplace you ask? Well, just the best DVD ever...GOONIES!!!!!!

With Hyrum done with the Academy it was time to celebrate! My sister-in-law Shawna called and put together a surprise dinner last Sat at Texas Road House. I told Hyrum it was time for us to go on a date and kept pushing for Texas Road House, but he was thinking somewhere a little more frugal, so it was tough getting to the restaurant. When we finally got there I told the hostess that we were there for a surprise dinner for my husband and to talk quietly. I asked where our table was and she got on her tippy toes and pointed to where everyone was. I knew Hyrum saw that. So I tried to convince him she told me where the bathroom was and asked him to come with me. He was so confused as to why I couldn't go to the bathroom by myself, but still followed me over. When we got to our table everyone yelled, "SURPRISE!!!" and gave him his HUGE balloons. I'm so excited for everyone to come in March for his grad ceremony so we can really party hardy! Thanks be to those who helped and came to the dinner, you guys are so sweet for doing that!

I just picked up another day at work, but before I did I was only working 3 days a week, so I had some free time. I made bread from scratch for the first time all by myself (Mom, don't tell anybody I called you a bazillion times while making it). I've made lots of banana bread, but never the real deal in my own kitchen. Our house isn't warm enough to have bread rise on its own so I had to stick it in the oven. I would love to make bread every day, but first I need a bread maker. Maybe I shouldn't make it every day cause I could eat the whole loaf in about 10 min.

Next project I did was quilt making. Never have I ever peiced together a quilt. I did it with a friend from the ward, and we spent time getting to know each other while cutting and measuring squares and then sewing them together and laying out the pattern, then sewing together more. I had to go before the border, or trim or whatever you call it was put on.After we sew a couple more things on we are donating to D.I. Call me selfish, but I totally wanted to keep it for myself:)

Goodbye 8-5, Hello shift work

So i finished the Boise Fire dept. academy on Friday. It seemed like it would never end. Now I kinda feel like a real firefighter. I start my first day on Tuesday with North Ada County Fire & Rescue. I have a pretty sweet schedule. I work 24 hours on, then 48 hours off. It should be exciting because garden city is the home of druggies and white trash trailer fires. Let the good times role in my new career.

So, I got a job. Besides the fact that the owner thinks my name is ugly and doesn't like me when i wear jeans its OKAY. Not my favorite, but OK. I am a receptionist at monkey dooz. It's a kids salon and spa. You can have birthday parties, get your haircut in a barbie jeep or in a hummer chair and get sparkle nails all while watching your favorite movie:) Pretty good idea huh? I wont be there forever, but until I can pay for my boards. CANT WAIT!!!

POOR OZZIE DRAMA

As most of you know, when Hyrum and I first got engaged Hyrum had a dog named Ozzie. We had to find a place to live, but in Provo, UT it can be expensive and near impossible to find a place to live that excepts dogs. I didn't want Ozzie, I even told Hyrum to find a nice family to give ozzie to so we could afford to live in an apartment without a $1000 pet deposit. Hyrum stood by his dog and we later found a place to live. I told myself and Hyrum that I am not Ozzies "mommy" and he wasn't my "baby". I was just plain anti-dog.

As time went by Ozzie became my best lil buddy (sad and cheesy as it may seem...its true). When Hyrum got a job in Boise Ozzie and I road tripped to a new home. 2 exits away from our final destination Ozzie (somehow) had the window rolled up on his neck and started yelping in pain. I pulled over to the side of the road and held Ozzie up so he wouldn't choke or break his neck, I tried to get the window down while screaming for help. The window wouldn't go down and FINALLY a nice young man came and broke the window. Ozzie visited the doggy ER and came home happy and unharmed.

Round 2! Today Ozzie and I woke up and did the usual. Opened the blinds and headed over to the front door where Ozzie usually sits and awaits his time to potty. Today Ozzie decided to take a nice quick swing around and smack his head right on the lower door hinge. I giggled and asked Ozzie if he was okay, and that's when he laid down and and started to seize and lost control of his bladder. I had no idea what to do. So what I think is, when in doubt cal 9-1-1. Don't do this. They think you are a total goober and give you a number to Humane Soc. Your welcome for finding that out for everyone who is a Goober. I call Banfield and they tell me to bring him in as soon as possible. So i pick up wobbly Ozzie and take him to the Dr.

He is still there as I write this and all I can think is Ozzie has an aneurysm and I'm going to have to tell Hyrum that his dog died on my watch. Goodness.

For those of you who don't have dogs and think I'm a nutcase, that's fine. I was like you once. You just wait till you get a little special needs dog and you'll feel me:)

This year was new to both Hyrum and I. We stayed in Boise and partied with the Wilson/Agnew/Thompson families on Christmas eve. They supplied some delicious baby back ribs. Ohhh my goodness....its rare when we get to indulge in some good ribs, and they were soooo good! Then some fun and games and some classic women in the kitchen chatting like a bunch of hens. We opened some christmas eve presents, and the everyone was so nice including us in their gift giving. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Hyrum and I then headed home for some Wilson and Jordan family Christmas eve traditions with our Christmas pj's and some readong from Luke.

Christmas morning ariving at 8:30am, a little later than we are both used to. After rise and shining we headed to the christmas tree with some festive music bringing us christmas cheer. We opened some amazing presents and shared some more of our families Christmas traditions. Ozzie got some wet dog food and a new toy, and he LOVED them both. Both Hyrum and I werent as homesick and we thought we would have been, thats a big step for me.

Then onto Christmas breakfast. Its tradition in my family to have boxed cereal (dad always tries to throw in a little somthing healthy), but along with the cereal we threw in some egss and ham and some cinnamon rolls. YUM! After a quick nap and a festive movie we settled back in our pj's and had a very merry christmas.

It's true, I miss doing hair. I left Provo, UT to Boise, ID and paid my dues so my license could follow me too. I have been waiting for about a month for my license to come in the mail and I thought the day had come when I got some mail from the Idaho board of licensing. It wasn't my license, it was an application to take the Idaho state boards. I HATE taking the boards with all my heart. Not only do I hate taking test, but I hate that I have to take a test that I already passed 4 years ago, and was told I wouldn't have to take it again for Idahos cosmetology license, and I have to pay an arm and a leg to take. There are 2 parts to the test, written and practical...neither fun.

So, here's the plan. I get a job doing something else in the mean time while I get my money and practical exam kit together (cost about $800 for the whole kit last time I took the practical). I already have a job lined up in a salon and they said they will keep the chair open for me and I'm still allowed to go to the shows the salon is putting on, but since I don't have my license all I can do is watch, no touching the models hair:(

So, if anyone hears of a job that will do me some good let me know. In the mean time I am excited to see when this can all happen cause I'm DONE waiting.

Now that I have vented to my blog, cause I'm sure Hyrum and my mom are sick of hearing about it, I feel better and will be a more positive person:)

Hyrum finally turned 24 on the 5th! We decorated with some paper chains and had some yummy decorated cupcakes. Since Hyrum is still in the academy he is so sleepy when he comes home. So Friday we went to dinner and we were going to catch a birthday movie. But like I said, he's sleepy on week nights, so we vetoed the movie and ended the night with just dinner. Sat we woke up, went for a birthday run and headed to the Meridian Christmas perade which featured the Wilson 5 with the Meridian Fire Dept and Shawnas mom passing out candy. It was so much fun! We love parades. Then we headed home for some partying. We ate lots of good, but bad for you, food and decorated plenty of cupcakes for Hyrums birthday cake! Thanks for all the help and for the good times!

T-DAY! I love the holiday season! This year was so much fun, we went to Glenn and Shawnas and enjoyed some family festivities. We had delicious turkey,stuffing,rolls,potatoes and much much more. After eating and eating and eating we went on to some good times playing some pretty amazing games. Im not much of a game person, but we played some good ones tonight and don't you worry I made a fool of myself at least 5 times:) Then we moved onto pie times and ELF. Laura gave me a VERY yummy recipe for some pear pie. Mad props to her for a good recipe find. Thank you for such a fun Thanksgiving!

NOW! Time for Christmas!!!! I made sure I was cooking and baking to some very festive christmas music just to gear me up for the season! Bust out the dollar store christmas lights and Hyrums redneck stocking!! YAHOO!

This year Hyrum and I will be in Boise for our Turkey day. Thankfully Glenn and Shawna will also be here along with Shawna's family (who we LOVE!) will be here too. We have been assigned the green bean casserole and some pumpkin pie. I'm so excited to cook and EAT! I'll have to contribute a little Jordan sumtin sumtin for the sake of tradition. Nobody has to eat it, just let me make it:) I love the holidays and Im so excited to get them started. Hyrum and I are also going to be here for Christmas and Im excited to get some of our own traditions going and this year is the perfect opportunity for that.

Hyrum has been working so stinking hard while he is in the fire academy. Its a tough academy! He wakes up at 6:00am, goes to the academy, comes home, eats dinner quickly, goes right to studying, and between 8:30pm and 9:30pm he is in bed. That doesn't leave much time for me to say hello or good bye! But as soon as I have my cosmetology license in hand I will start working at Atomic Salon which is a Paul Mitchell salon which will be great for me to go back and work with a lot of the products I learned and worked with while I was in school. Cross your fingers I remember everything!

2 weeks ago the Jordan family came from the east and west to North Tahoe for some good times. We were all together for a quick 3 days. It was so much fun! There was plenty of hot tubbing, laughing, happy birthdaying and of course PLENTY of eating. I love getting together with my family, nothing ever goes wrong and everyone is always happy.

Lake Tahoe is BEAUTIFUL! I would love to there again sometime soon.

I went over to Lauras and barrowed all hger dental gear and Hyrum was going to be rodeo goodness but left his costume in the car. So basically I was Laura for Halloween and Hyrum was Hyrum.

Then we took our nephews and neice out trick or treating and their mom and I held some bags out for some candy to and people hooked us up! We are over 14 years old for sure, but they still gave us yummy candy:)

I finally made it. And I don't mean my first time blogging! After taking my fourth firefighter exam, I made it all the way through the process. Marge and I will be moving to Boise, Idaho so i can work for North Ada County Fire & Rescue, better known as NACFR. I will start the Fire Academy on Nov. 3rd. So Dave ( my brother in law) and I have the luck of all luckies. We like to call into radio stations and try to win free stuff. Maybe it's because we're cheap and we'll take every free thing that comes our way.

To be honest I wouldnt even post this blog if I werent winning. So far this year I have won two sets of concert tickets and one movie pass. Thanks to KBULL 93 I now have Toby Keith tickets for the 20th. Unfortunatley Hyrum and I have only been able to go to one event. We left early. Aaron Tippin was not all we had hoped for. Couldnt make it to the movie and now we cant go see Toby Keith:(

Hyrum and I just celebrated one year together by going to Park City where we honeymooned and drove to Logan in the morning to go to the Logan temple where we were sealed. SO MUCH FUN!

We took a trip up the Alpine Loop with the Walls. It was so much fun! No bears or snakes disturbed us, thank goodness. Started the first night with some tin foil dinners. Then Hyurm finished the night off by making some delicious peach cobbler. After a restless night (thanks to Oziie felt like it was his job to walk around the tent all night) we got up and had a great dutch oven breakfast. Then we went for a little jont through the woods...the story with that one will soon faollow.

Its been a while since my last post, sorry friends. We have been celebrating Lauras,Fayes and Kims birthdays and going shooting while camping and playing with fire in the mean time.

We are ready for some more fun, but we are also sad all of our friends are moving for law school and grad school and for all of their new adventures.

Today is Fathers Day, and I am proud to say I am Ralphs daughter. He has been such an amazing Dad since day one and I sure do love him. I have also been pretty lucky to have a Father-in-Law who is so sweet. So here is a cake I baked for the Fathers who have influenced my life. Sure do love 'em

Hike the Y and scouts

WE DID IT!! We finally hiked the Y together! It was tons harder than I rememered. But all in all it was so much fun.
Hyrum and I have been called to scouts. We have the bears AKA as the 9 year old boys. So far we've had some good times with them. Hyrum does most of the talking, and the boys really listen to him. At the end of every meeting we play a little soccer. Hyrum always ends up on the winning team:)

Its official, I am still no good at posting pictures. Anyways, here area couple pictures from our trip up to Coeur D'alene, ID. It was so beautiful! We went up so Hyrum could take his first test to become a firefighter. We dont find out the test results till the 18th. 200 other people showed up for the test so its gonna be pretty competitive, but Hyrum pretty much a stud so I'm expecting a call back. In the mean time Hyrum will be turning in applications pretty much all over the western part of the states. Except for the expensive western states:) We cant wait for summer. Anyone up for some camping? Come join us for some summer fun!

Well, the last week has been pretty slow. Hyrum has nursed me back to health after a week of yucky. We ignored being sick and braved the BYU vs UVU home opener with family. Left early cause it got chilly. But Jack got to hang with his "buddy" Cosmo:) Before the game Hyrum and I took a drive up to Sundance and saw an elk. So, here is a much needed post. Nothing exciting, but none the less, a post.

Thought I would kill some time while i wait for Hyrum to come home from the gym so I can unlock my keys from insode my glove box and be to work 15 min ago:) On sunday we took a little walk with Ozzie up to the bell tower. Turns out it was quite a bit colder then we thought it would be. Hyrum had never wondered BYU campus, so we thought we would get a little excersise and take our beagel with a heart mumer up a couple flights of stairs a take in Utah.

Hyrums dad has his 60th birthday bash. We could only wear black white or silver. It was fun to get dressed up (AKA gives us a good excuse to buy more clothes). Valentines day was so much fun! Hyrum came home from school with flowers. I had to run a quick errand and when i came home there was a new purse filled with 12 boxes of Red Vines. Oh bless, he knows what this girl likes. Then we went to dinner at Red Robin. Hyrums very first time eating there so that made is more fun. Then we walked around till our movie started and ended up watching MTV film a Dance movie Called Mall Dance, or something like that. Then we went to our movie and had a wonderful night. Im so lucky to have such a good guy.

Surprise!!!! Laura came into town this weekend, and we had a BLAST!! Friday night was game night at Steve and Jonelle Grays. They were so nice to have everyone over. There was barely any game playing that went on, we had so much fun just talking and laughing. We played Curses and Hyrum couldnt bend his arms. Dont worry folks, he doesnt always look like that:)

Saturday night was Cafe Rio night, of course. You cant come to Utah without getting some fine dineing in at the Rio. We later went to Jeff and Annas house where we reaked havok on that poor family who was trying to get babies to sleep, and maybe catch a few zzz's themselves. It was fun seeing everyone!

A little sledding fun. It was cold, but be assured we had plenty of layers on to keep us warm. After we finished our 3 terrifying rides down the rock canyon park HUGE mountain,Hyrum and I watched everyone else giggle their way down the hill while we made very beautiful snow angels:)

So far Hyrum and I need to start leading a more exciting life. Nothing much has happened since our last post. Hyrum is studying hard for his test tomorrow on how breathing works, or something like that. He cant wait to be a fireman, its so fun! He is getting a little nervous about the physical exam. So far he will be testing this summer in Boise and Montana. If he gets into a department they will hopefully pay for his time spent in the fire academy.
I never have a dull moment at the pre school. three year olds are a hoot, or something like that. They continue to amaze me with their personalities. Some have a favorite word...NO! We'll see how long that last. I am doing boothrent right now out of David Douglas Salon. It keeps me busy for those 2 days. I love my clients, they are so witty and its always fun to hear about other peoples lives.
We cant wait for the weekend, we are planning on having some good times with the Grays and the Lo families. Maybe throw in a little country dancing? we'll see:)
